I have to admit that the last review did alarm us a little. It's true that there's a building entry area that can be accessed by pressing a button. But here's the thing: that's not the apartment! The apartment can be dead bolt locked and it's honestly pretty nice and a good deal. We especially appreciated how cold it got with the AC going. I also spent a surprising amount of time just watching boats pass by in the canal. Great location, clean, comfortable. Host was very friendly in guiding us to the place and getting us settled. No issues at all with this place.

There is a lot to recommend this apartment. The beds are comfortable, the views are excellent and you feel that you are right in the heart of Venice. The kitchen is a bit basic if you wanted to do a lot of cooking - but why would you in Venice! The only potential downside is that it is quite noisy during the day as it is right on the corner of two canals including the main artery to and from the airport. However it quietens down at night and we slept well.

Apartment was in a great location - away from crowds but walking distance to everything. However, outside the apartment was VERY noisy at night and in the mornings. I stayed two nights and the first night there was no hot water - none at all for 5 people to shower. View from window was awesome. Washing machine was a big plus. Nice size apartment for a family of 5. No compensation for lack of hot water.
