A great alternative to climbing the Brocken is a hike to the Wurmberg in Braunlage. Lower Saxony's highest mountain is easily manageable even for inexperienced hikers and offers an almost equally spectacular panorama when visibility is good. For even greater comfort, you can glide to the summit in the modern gondolas of the cable car. How about a visit to the high ropes course in St. Andreasberg? We also highly recommend a visit to the Western town of Pullman City (near Hasselfelde, about ten kilometers away) and the famous Rübeland stalactite caves, especially for families with children.
