Porthtowan has an excellent village store, beach shop, two surf hire shops, children’s play park, award winning fish and chip shop and two highly popular and family friendly beach bars. Both bars offer large outdoor seating areas adjacent to the beach, with a laid-back vibe and fantastic food. Within walking distance is a great local pub with beer garden and excellent local food. Porthtowan’s award-winning beach is hugely popular with surfers and families. The South-West Coast Path national trail runs through Porthtowan offering stunning walks just minutes from the house.
