Welcome to Sunset Cove, a private Lake Erie retreat surrounded by beautiful gardens, incredible sunsets and plenty of space to relax and enjoy time together.

Perched high above Lake Erie, our comfortable three-bedroom, two-bath cottage is designed for enjoying the outdoors as much as the indoors. Start your morning with coffee overlooking the lake, relax in the lakeside gazebo, wander through the gardens, or end the day soaking in the hot tub while watching the sunset over the water.

During the growing season, guests are welcome to enjoy our expansive raised-bed vegetable and herb garden. Depending on what’s ripe during your stay, you may find fresh tomatoes, squash, beans, a wide variety of peppers, basil, oregano and other seasonal favorites. Feel free to pick what you’d like and add some fresh-from-the-garden flavor to your meals.

During the warmer months, enjoy our large, private outdoor shower overlooking Lake Erie and the gardens, complete with a relaxing rain shower head and built-in bench. It’s spacious and easy to access for guests who appreciate a little extra room or support.

If you enjoy cooking, our kitchen is well equipped and stocked with a wide variety of spices and seasonings. We also provide Keurig coffee pods, sugar and sweeteners, so your morning coffee is ready when you are.

As evening settles in, gather around the granite outdoor fire pit or cozy up beside the indoor wood-burning fireplace with gas starter. Firewood is provided for both, so there’s no need to bring or purchase your own.

DOG FRIENDLY — UP TO 3 DOGS WELCOME

Dogs love Sunset Cove too! Our large, fully fenced lakefront backyard gives dogs plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors with you.

We also have a smaller, separately fenced private side area directly off the kitchen, with a doggie door providing access back into the house. This area is out of sight of the neighboring dogs and includes a small sunny deck where you can place a dog bed, along with enough outdoor space for bathroom breaks and relaxing.

Because neighboring dogs are nearby, we ask that dogs not be left outside unattended in the main lakefront yard for extended periods. If you plan to leave the property without your dogs, please make sure they are comfortable being left alone and will not bark excessively or disturb our neighbors. Guests should not plan to leave dogs unattended at the property all day.

Sunset Cove is a true lakefront property situated high on the Lake Erie cliffs, so there is currently no direct beach or water access from the property. For a day in the water, we recommend the pet-friendly sandy beach and swimming area at Barcelona Harbor, approximately 7 miles away.

Beyond the beach itself, the swimming area has a completely sandy bottom with virtually no rocks or seaweed, and the water remains approximately knee- to waist-deep for nearly 100 yards from shore. It’s wonderful for kids and dogs to splash and play, kayaking or paddleboarding, or simply carrying a beach chair into the shallows and relaxing in the water.

You’ll also be in the heart of Lake Erie wine country, close to wineries, restaurants and the charming communities of Westfield, New York, and North East, Pennsylvania.

Of course, some of the best days at Sunset Cove are the ones when you never leave — pick something fresh from the garden for dinner, enjoy a glass of wine in the gazebo, soak in the hot tub, watch an unforgettable Lake Erie sunset and finish the evening around the fire.
