The house was easy to get to and easy to get in. There was good parking for guests and we felt safe enough in the location. The cleanliness was not up to par. The best way I can describe it is that it was probably a clean property a few years ago and I’d slowly going downhill We walked in to a faint weed stinch. In the living room the couches really grossed us out. The pillows look like someone was just taking a nap on them. The couch fabric was really gross and worn. We bought sheets from Walmart to cover the couch because they grossed us out too much to sit. I could tell someone cleaned before we arrived but it looked like a quick cleaning hitting the high spot. One pillow had a stain and another had something crusty. The beds were fine to sleep in Overall, we were able to make it work but It doesn’t feel great to have to clean our own place when arriving. My friend walked around on the floor for an hour and her feet were BLACK!!!

Family weekend at UNCW

The location is very convenient to UNCW. The home is large, with numerous sleeping options. It was fairly clean but does need maintenance. For large groups, you really can’t beat it.However, I don’t think I would stay there again for a few reasons. First, there has clearly been water damage in the home with evident ceiling stains, and even the bedding and pillows took on a musty smell that really made my allergies flare up. The beds were very firm, which some people might like, but not us. Also, several of the closets are missing half of their doors, and the rest are hanging on loosely. There is no Keurig, which is fairly standard in short term rentals. But, what really got me worried is the lack of check in instructions. None were sent in advance, or even the day of so as we drove into town I was beginning to wonder if we were going to be able to get in. I sent a message a few hours prior to arrival about it and got no response, which further increased my concern. At check in time I emailed again saying we were headed to the home, and finally at 3:29PM he sent a text with screenshots on how to get in. It felt odd having to pester him for something that should have been sent to me without prompting.
