Alexander House is a large, elegant, detached house, tucked away on a quiet private track in the quintessential holiday village of Thorpeness, which inspired J M Barrie's Peter Pan. This idyllic house is just a short stroll down to the beautiful beach, and the Meare, both perfect for creating lifelong memories with the children! A fabulous choice for friends and family get-togethers.
This lovely farmhouse provides a wonderful base for exploring the stunning coastline of Suffolk. The open-plan ground floor provides a modern, light space to relax, wine, dine and entertain. The large kitchen is well equipped with a conventional aga range cooker, large American style fridge freezer and dishwasher. French doors open directly to the surrounding garden with outdoor table and chairs. There's plenty of sofas for everyone to kick back in, and a widescreen Sky television for all to enjoy. The second sitting room has the added benefit of a wood burning stove, and a further television. There's a ground floor cloakroom and shower room, perfect for those who struggle with stairs.
To the first floor, there are two bedrooms; one twin, and one super-king room with en-suite bathroom. There is also a family bathroom.
Outside there is a large enclosed garden, great for dogs, which backs onto the practice range for Thorpeness Golf Club. There is parking for up to five cars.
The pretty Victorian seaside town of Aldeburgh is only a short drive away or if you feel like some exercise it is a lovely walk along the beach, past Maggi Hambling's famous scallop sculpture.
Alexander House is also available as a sleeps six option Alexander House (6), with some bedrooms locked. This option is only available in the quieter periods outside of school holidays. A higher occupancy option that sleeps 13 is also available all year round: Alexander House.

Infants welcome, however no equipment is provided.
The stair case is steep, winding and does not fit a stair gate.
Please bring your own pods for the Nespresso coffee machine.

This house is tucked away at the end of a lane (no through road) with only dog walkers passing by, so nice and quiet.
The pub is a stroll away and the beach an easy walk. There is a gate through to the golf course but I'm not sure if this to be used.
Super large family room / kitchen, comfy seating (plenty of it) light and airy house.
Off road parking
Sadly we experienced a heating problem when we visited but Suffolk Hideaways were quick to try to sort it out.

A lovely well equipped house in a beautiful area. A very good location to explore the delights of Suffolk. Amazing array of wildlife

Really enjoyed the house, it was clean and comfy and on the golf course and just 60 yards from the pub.
The only negative points were no tea, coffee or milk provided on arrival. The super king mattress in the master was a bit hard round the edges and the bins have to be wheeled right down the lane to be emptied !
Very small points were no tumblers for a G&T or squash and very small mugs !

Alexander House was just perfect. The quality of the bedding, towels, kitchen equipment was first class (except for the knives which were bent and blunt. We’ve learned over the years to take our own, we just forgot this time) I would recommend this house, especially for a large family group. We would definitely stay again
