Conveniently situated close to Ambleside centre commanding magnificent views over the fells.. All on the second floor.
Entrance hall: With storage for boots.
Living/dining room: With TV, DVD player and CD player.
Kitchen: With electric oven, hob, microwave and fridge.
Bedroom 1: With double bed.
Bedroom 2: With twin beds.
Shower room: With shower cubicle and toilet.. Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and Wi-Fi included. Cot and highchair, at cost.. Gardens (shared). Private parking. Visit England 3 Star.. This second floor apartment commands magnificent views over Wansfell and towards Helvellyn. Situated within a small development called Oaklands, close to the centre of Ambleside, within a short stroll from the many shops, restaurants, pubs and local attractions together with the wide variety of excellent walks. In all an extremely comfortable apartment, appointed to a high standard and in a central location, from which to explore the delights of the Lake District National Park.

Perfectly located for an assault on the Lake District on foot, bike or even boat. We had an excellent week, the flat had everything we needed!

A lovely, convenient, warm and cosy flat right at the centre of Ambleside. The only drawback is no washing machine, but we understand it would be difficult to fit one in.

Overall, very comfortable. Space found for 2 cars parking on site (using a visitor spot). Quiet surroundings for being near the centre of Ambleside.
Negative issues surrounded lack of functioning light bulbs on arrival, luckily there is a hardware store a couple of minutes away. The letting company were contacted and offered to send someone out or refund for the bulbs - the issue is more to do with the checking after previous occupation. To continue the bulb saga, there turned out to be a missing bulb in the double bedroom, the light in the bathroom failed - which the letting company had to repair which was done speedily. Lastly , in this area, the extraction fan from the kitchen was broken!, which apparently had not been logged.
And the final issue; someone had managed to leave some knickers at the head of one of the single bed - goodness knows how there were missed during cleaning.
Would I stay again? Yes! But would hope for a better level of cleaning/checking,

This is the second time we have stayed at Oaklands. We have probably stayed at about 15 other Ambleside properties (yes - we go every year). This one is the best location and has the best parking. It is only a few minutes level walk to all Ambleside amenities.
The appartment is fine with good views of surrounding fells. The only drawback is it is on the second floor so there are a few flights of stairs to cope with. It is well equipped though the sofas are a rather soft.
