We were three couples and we loved our stay! Great location and super clean! There are two areas for outdoor seating. The deck was perfect for morning coffee and listening/watching the birds and squirrels in the beautiful big tree right in front of us. Down the hill is another sitting area with a fire pit where we enjoyed listening to the live music across the water from one of the two restaurants/bars. Sunsets were gorgeous, fun watching fireflies at night too. Note that the road going across to the restaurants/bars is right next to the house but we loved how convenient it was to walk over to eat. There were kayaks and a paddleboat but we ended up not using. The kitchen was well-stocked and the large island had lots of stools all around, plenty for all. Lots to do in the area and the Merrimac ferry was close and convenient. Some of the things we enjoyed during our stay was hiking to the top at Devil Lake State Park. Biking the Great Sauk old railroad trail (beautiful views of prairie land and hills on one end). Not to miss is the International Crane Foundation with viewing of 14 different cranes from around the world and beautiful prairie gardens throughout. Another not to miss is Dr. Evermor's Sculpture Park, with lots of scrap metal sculptures including worlds largest, totally Mad Max style! Also, the big top show at Circus World in Baraboo, checking out all the nearby towns and of course the beautiful Driftless Country area. Would definitely book again!!

Such a great place! Very comfortable. Well stocked with many amenities. Location is perfect. Walking distance to some great bars and restaurants. Great fishing.

The cabin would be great for adults and singles. Not young children. It’s also located directly across water from an outdoor bar and music venue. Although music does stop at 10 pm.

The house was nicely updated and had most everything we needed. The beds could use updating as they were soft. It was clean and well furnished. The host was excellent to work with and accommodating. The home is on the river inlet with access to Lake Wisconsin. It’s difficult to get the kayaks and paddle boat into the water. The dock is good for fishing and the kids enjoyed that. There aren’t many nearby activities for kids and the swimming area across the street wasn’t clean (pigeon poop and the water wasn’t clear.) The weather wasn’t great which put a damper on our stay. The backyard slope to the dock needs work for better access. We went to Devils Lake and the kids enjoyed swimming there.
