Welcome to the Bungalow on Hillsborough River! Make our house your home and escape to the Bungalow River House to relax, unwind and recharge.
The Hillsborough River has a wonderful community of birds, fish, manatees, dolphins, and boaters and you can take it all in from your private patio overlooking the river. Bring your kayak or canoe for direct access to the river. Paddle down to Rick's on the River, Ulele Restaurant or Downtown Tampa.
One of the best ways to see the river is by hopping on the Pirate Water Taxi that picks up at Armature Works, a 5 min drive from the house... you can hop on and off at various stops along the Tampa Riverwalk like Ulele, the Sail Pavilion, and Curtis Hixon Park, all while taking in the beautiful river and downtown views.
The house can accommodate a group of 4 guests comfortably. You have the entire downstairs of a 2 story duplex as your own apartment.
The spacious bedroom has a King size bed, double closets and a stackable washer and dryer.
In the living room, you will enjoy water views from the window as you unwind or watch TV. Additional guests can sleep on the Queen sleeper sofa.
The house has WIFI and a smart tv so you may log into your personal Netflix or Amazon accounts.
You will spend most of your time on our covered open air patio that overlooks the Hillsborough River. Enjoy all your meals outside at the table or large bar that overlooks the water. Sit on the bench of the small dock that has steps right down into the water so you can bring your kayak or canoe.

This was our second time at the river house. Our family rented the top and bottom units of the house. Fantastic time, place is so great. We can’t wait to come back!!

It was a great place to stay! We stayed 2 nights for a concert. Never felt unsafe even coming back super late at night!

The views were beautiful on the river. Easy in & out. Liked having a secured gate to the road. Kitchen was stocked well. Clean & plenty of space.

As soon as we walked inside the smell of mustiness hit us. We did not have time to make other arrangements so we stayed the two booked nights. I know there was water damage from the recent hurricane, however, it was not noticeable except for the smell. When I went home my suitcase reeked of odor. I immediately washed EVERYTHING. I put on my CPAP machine that evening and IT reeked. I had to throw away the tubing and face mask as well as change the filter and wash the water chamber. It took three nights to get the smell out.
Mostly the rental was OK. The bed was comfortable and there were two TVs with Netflix which we appreciated. When I turned on the shower water forcefully spewed from the shower head. I cleaned it up from the floor and proceeded to shower the way it was. I’m curious how that was missed when the shower was cleaned before our arrival. I reported it for repair. We won’t be returning to that unit.
