We booked this home as a venue for my son’s micro wedding. Laura was beyond amazing to work with! She was quick to respond to the numerous questions the groom and bride had.The home itself was wonderful, the living room was a beautiful setting for the wedding. The bride and groom cooked both rehearsal dinner and the wedding meal for the guests and the kitchen (and grill) were perfect for that. The lake was low but that did not stop kayakers and fishermen from enjoying the beauty and the sunset wedding photos were gorgeous. Thank you for hosting the wedding of their dreams!

Hilly terrain ... just plan accordingly. Beautiful mountain / lake area ... lake access walk 100 steps down to lake for use of our own kayak. Home has Culligan soft water and purified drinking water a bonus.

This is a wonderful house for a group of 8-10! We LOVED the sunrise views over the lake every morning. And there were plenty of games and puzzles provided for us to cozy up to by the fireplace. We also had great views from upstairs and the pool room downstairs.The refrigerator upstairs holds a good amount of food, including an entire Thanksgiving dinner for 10, and the downstairs fridge held our overflow. We played on the dock and at the firepit, again, the views were spectacular at both. My grandkids loved the hammock.The grocery store was conveniently located next to some good restaurants, where we got pizzas, pasta and really good Chinese food.Carrying the trash to the local dump was time consuming and instead of making a second drop, I drove 2 bags home with me.The central living space was so large we easily had room for shared meals, charades and a couple of dance parties with the kids!If you want a nice large home with an amazing view and easy access to food and fun activities I recommend this place. Horseback riding lessons and trail riding are 20 minutes away. Putt putt, arcade and great restaurants less than 30 minutes away. And Roanoake or Lynchburg for great shopping less than an hour away. The cons were the steep incline of the entire property. Views would be limited in summer but beautiful in Spring, Fall and Winter. The heating ducts rattled in some bedrooms and the home is showing some signs of her age.Overall a solid 4 as we had a blast.

We arrived at the house well after sunset, as we were driving in from out of town. Due to the location on the lake, it was quite dark and hilly, which did make it somewhat difficult to locate the driveway to the property. Once we arrived at the house, it was quick and easy to get inside. Some of the rooms were smaller than expected, but not too small. The area around the house, as well as the house itself, was quite beautiful and green. We did notice that the duvets appeared to be in need of some additional cleaning, but all the sheets and towels were in great shape. While we didn't get a chance to use it, the firepit was very nicely set up and we enjoyed sitting out on the deck and on the dock. We were surprised and disappointed with the list of expectations for cleaning on our way out, including running 2 loads of laundry through the wash, a load through the dryer, and bringing all garbage to the convenience center 15 minutes away.
