Great location for our early ferry, and a good price for the night. Room was clean and tidy, full of character, and with plenty of snacks! Staff were helpful and friendly. We were able to store our bikes safely overnight.

The location is absolutely perfect — only about a 10-minute walk from the White Cliffs and the castle, with the ferry right next door.

We really loved our stay here. The hotel is quite old, but that’s part of its charm. It felt comfortable and full of character, and our room was beautifully decorated with lots of plants and paintings, which gave it a warm and homely feel. Also we were given lots of complementary snacks, water and had a coffee machine too. The bathroom was modern and very nicely done. The location was also convenient, especially because it was close to the port.
The wooden windows didn’t block much of the outside noise, so we could hear lorries, traffic and horns quite clearly, even during the night.

The room was clean and well equipped, very generous with snacks, drinks and facilities. Nice hot shower. Very welcoming owner. Handy for the port and eateries nearby (although mainly fast-food outlets in a pretty grubby purpose built square near the cinema).
It was like walking onto the set of Rising Damp! The reception and staircases are grubby, shabby and dark. This made a really poor first impression. And the noise of the lorries arriving at the port literally all night, so no sleep the night before a long journey - OMG! This hotel is in a beautiful building and a tin of paint and some new stair carpet, along with double glazing to the front, would really make this place a better experience.
