We became totally immersed in the serene, nature abounding, authentic log-cabin mountain life thanks to outstanding attention to detail at A Step Above! From the whittled log dining chairs at the huge tree-truck dinner table, real deer horn cabinet pulls & bear-decor galore, it provided a truly unique experience. Even BETTER, WE WERE ALL spoiled by the awesome modern amenities;loved the giant hot tub on the totally private deck which was perfectly heated for our stay and surrounded by the sounds of Smokey mountain wildlife, working WiFi, Direct TV in every room, billiards table, multicade arcade game with ALL those old-school favorites - DK, Pac-Man & Mrs., Frogger, Centipede, Dig-dug, etc. And topping it offff 3 king bed suites each with jacuzzis kept us well separated for great privacy on either side of the open concept kitchen & great room where everyone reconvened for games & meals & rocking chairs on the wrap-around deck & in the little courtyard to BBQ. We were just close enough to quickly drive to Dollywood thrills & the Gatlinburg hill of fudges & shines without having to hear them back at Step Above, easily one of the best accommodations of our lives!

We don’t own it! Driving up that winding road for the first time after dark was a challenge but it was so worth it & it got easier each drive!
