Shepherds Hut Gateway to Tekapo and the MacKenzie District

Very cozy and warm hut, with a very convenient location (16minutes drive to lake tekapo, star gazing just outside of the hut and 90minutes drive to Mt cook), creek flowing next to the hut, we can hear the sound of it at night, felt very comfortable and peaceful. There is a flower tree in the middle of the yard and two lovely alpacas wandering around, which are so cute! People here are so nice, Dave help us with the door while the considerate host greeting to us everyday and remind us to keep the light on so that we can find our hut easily. Hope to be here next time.

Would be even better if we got one or two cloth hunger inside of the hut.

Super cozy! Very nicely decorated while staying practical and maximizing the space. It felt like a lot of care had been put in to make the place special. There were a lot of little extras like an electric blanket, hot drinks, and a TV by the bed that made me feel valued. I also liked the view into the stream from the rear window. Everyone in the area was very friendly. Every apliance I wanted was available and there were plenty of electrical sockets. All this for a great price.
