Chalet Tänneli is located above the village of Brienz; it is a unique place for laid-back people, offering a wonderful view of Lake Brienz and the mountains. Relax far away from the hustle and bustle. It is an oasis for those seeking peace and quiet in nature, with plenty of privacy.
Hiking trails begin near the chalet.
The chalet is currently suitable for 2 people and is fully equipped. The kitchen and bathroom were renovated (2024/25). A place to take a deep breath and relax.
The chalet is a 3-minute drive from Brienz; it’s a 20-minute walk downhill and a 30–35-minute walk uphill. Parking is available.
The parking area for loading and unloading luggage is located on a meadow below the chalet.
It’s about an 80-meter walk, partly across the meadow, up to the chalet.
Therefore, we recommend carrying your luggage in a backpack or travel bag. A wheeled suitcase is not well-suited for this path. Sturdy, comfortable footwear is recommended.
After unloading your luggage, please park your car in the large upper parking lot. From there, it’s about a 200-meter walk to the chalet.
This route also follows a nature trail and crosses a meadow.
The cottage features a cozy dining area, a small bedroom, a modern small bathroom with a shower, and a balcony with a lake view—ideal for long breakfasts in the morning sun. It features a small kitchen, a small bathroom with a shower, and a living room with a dining area.
It has a small bedroom furnished with a 160x200 cm double bed and a wardrobe. Bed linens, hand towels, and bath towels are provided.
The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a 2-burner ceramic stove, and an oven.
It has plenty of pots, pans, bowls, cutlery, and everything else you need in the kitchen, including a fondue and raclette set. A coffee maker (Tassimo) is also available. There is no dishwasher!

The major attraction of this property is the stunning view over Brienz and Lake Brienz which is every bit as beautiful as the photos suggest. Ruth and Urs the lovely owners have not just relied on the view though - they have done a huge amount of work with no expense spared to make the chalet so comfortable and stylish. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you! Our only warning to potential guests is that, if walking, the chalet is about 20 minutes up the steep hill from Brienz and even if driving the access immediately outside the cottage would be tricky for anyone with limited mobility. For those who are happy to walk on hills and uneven ground it will be worth every step to enjoy this beautiful place - we loved it!
