Garland Hotel

Breakfast was good, with a number of choices. Breakfast was available for more hours than at most hotels, and coffee was available all day. Room was spacious and our room on the third floor had a nice view from the balcony. Very good value for the cost.Room temperature did not adjust easily.

The place looks brand new, it's been there 10+ years. Very clean, very comfortable beds. The plastic tables and high stools were not so comfortable to me, but they served their purpose. Staff were outstanding. Breakfast was better than many. Booked for one night as I headed west, and before I left, I booked a second night for my return trip back east. Definitely a gem in the middle of not much!

Having stayed twice, once I was on the front side and the other on the back side of the hotel. If possible, try to get on the back side. The front overlooks the highway and, beyond just a less scenic view, it's definitely louder. Not so much to intrude on sleep (hopefully), but you can hear the highway traffic.

The cleanliness and friendly staff. Breakfast is good but enough for me as a vegetarian. Liked that it was not far off the interstate but close enough. Found it quiet.

Maybe replaced the worn chair in the room.

Right off the interstate and only 20 minutes from where we needed to go.

When we checked into the first room we noticed a smell could t figure it out and we noticed dinged up walls the mattresses are stained yellow the dressers and night stands are dirty and there’s a used broken comb left on the dresser. Once we went into the bathroom I happened to look close in the corners of the shower and there was so much mold it’s wild to think they didn’t see it or care. Went to the front desk showed the guy, who was super nice and accommodating, and he upgrade us to a suite no problem. Get in there carpets are stained bad and the mattresses are stained yellow at the bottoms and again the night stands and dressers are dirty. No biggie we did a thorough check for bug and all clear. Look in the shower mold not as much as the other. We just go with it and wear shoes in the shower, tempted to get bleach and clean it ourselves, mattresses weren’t hard but not soft either. The pleather couches are coming apart and cracked and you transfer black particles with you when you go to bed. Fast forward the next morning went to get the hair dryer out and it was so sticky and gross. Went to the front desk and got a new one and it was better. We were playing in midnight softball tournament so we weren’t there but to sleep and get up and go.
