Experience the charm of a beautifully refurbished, fully detached 200-year-old cottage, nestled in the tranquil village of Upwell on the Norfolk/Cambridgeshire border. With a stunning garden and idyllic riverside setting, Shrewness House is perfect for family gatherings, social events, birthdays, Christmas celebrations, and hen parties. (Please note: we do not accept stag parties.)

Shrewness House comfortably sleeps 8 guests and is both child and pet-friendly. A travel cot and high chair are available for your convenience.
At the bottom of the garden, the old course of the River Nene provides full mooring rights, ideal for canoeing, boating, and fishing—or simply relaxing while watching the boats drift by.
Outdoor Living at Its Best
Make the most of the outdoors with a fully equipped outdoor kitchen and BBQ area, complete with sofas and armchairs for ultimate relaxation. For those who love outdoor cooking, we also have a Texas-style offset smoker.

The house itself is nicely presented. Lots of space, very warm and comfortable. The housekeeping was missing a few things though it was clean.The parking area and gardens need a little work to be their best and the outdoor areas were not presented as shown in the pictures, generally not cleaned or set up to use.Sitting by the river was very good.For a family get together it is a nice space.
