The house fit the island vibe so well. Open air, the best views we could ask for. Everything was comfortable and clean and we loved all the amenities. The pool and hot tub were great and our kids loved the basketball court, pickleball court and ping pong table. The driveway to get down is fairly steep but we got used to it. Closest restaurants and grocery store were about 25 minutes so that was another thing we had to get used to. But for the view and quiet and peacefulness, it was worth it. The host checked in a couple times and was very helpful. There are a couple houses using the same amenities but we didn’t ever run into anyone so it felt like our own retreat. We loved our stay here, it’s such a unique island.

Wonderful stay. Beautiful location. Gracious hosts. Rare to have both a pool and hot tub (kids loved it). Chairs, umbrellas, towels and toys made beaching easy. Shared location with hosts but worked out great to get insider scoop on what to do, where to go, from locals.

This is a truly special place. The photos are accurate: the views are stunning, the apartment itself is lovely and very comfortable, and the amenities (pool, hot tub, etc) are exactly as described. The bedrooms are enclosed but the living room and kitchen are open, so you feel like you're really immersed in the surroundings. Sunsets each evening are spectacular with the west-facing exposure, and the sunrises are serene and calming with indirect light coming over the shoulder of the volcano behind. The hosts (and their dogs) are warm and welcoming. Even though they live next door, we had a real sense of privacy. The location is a bit distant from shopping, restaurants, etc. (about 25 min drive to the nearest grocery store), but it only needed a little bit of fore-planning to work things out, and for us the fact that it was away from the crowds was a big plus. Terrific beaches and snorkeling are very close, and it's well situated for trips to and around the southern point of the big island.

Staying at this house was a great experience. It was peaceful with nice views. The house was comfortable and clean. Our family enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Staying there allowed us more time to explore the southern part of the Island without spending so much time in the car. It is a 20 minute drive from most amenities, but that wasn’t really a problem for us. Dining out is much more affordable in this area than from Kona north. The hosts were helpful and gracious, and the house was well equipped. If we visit this part of the island again we’d definitely stay here again.
