Make yourself at home. If anything comes up, we’re a quick message away.
The Neighborhood:
Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District puts you within walking distance of a wide variety of top-notch local flavors! Make new friends over a food-cart meal at the Cartopia food cart pod, get messy with wings at Fire on the Mountain, or share a pie at Apizza Scholls.
Portland isn't just for foodies; the vibrant indie spirit of Hawthorne is alive with plenty of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore. Catch a movie at the Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 176-acre city park atop an extinct volcanic cinder cone, where you’ll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city.
Getting Around:
🚶 Walking — This neighborhood sits between the Division and Hawthorne corridors, two of Portland's best streets for dining and shopping — both within easy walking distance.
🚌 Bus — TriMet Route 14 (Hawthorne) and FX2 (Division) connect to downtown. Check current routes and schedules before heading out.
🚲 Biking — BIKETOWN bike-share is another option; check its map for nearby bikes and stations. Portland has an extensive bike lane network.
🚗 Driving — Free street parking available (read signs for restrictions). Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) is another option.
✈️ Airport — PDX is reachable by car or MAX and bus connections; allow for traffic and transfers.
Other Things to Note:
This is a ground-floor apartment in a multi-unit historic house; sounds from upstairs and the shared basement may carry. About five to six steps lead to the entrance.
