MEININGER Hotel Barcelona Fira Gran Via

We were literally here for only a few hours, as we had a cancelled flight and booked an overnight stay. Reception staff were mega friendly and welcoming, and the bar area seemed lively with lots of people enjoying a drink and food. The hotel is 15 mins from the airport by taxi. Perfect for an overnight stay for what we needed. Thank you.

We had a mixed experience at MEININGER Barcelona. The hotel itself is newer, clean and modern, and overall the facilities were good. However, the main issue during our stay was the noise. The walls and doors seem to provide limited sound insulation, so we could clearly hear noise from the corridor inside our room. During our stay, there were quite a lot of teenagers/students or school groups staying at the hotel, and unfortunately their behaviour affected our experience. One early morning, some boys knocked on our door, and when I opened it, they said, “Oops, sorry, wrong room.” The following morning, around 5–6 AM, we were again woken up by people running and making noise in the corridor, seemingly playing around. We understand that the hotel cannot completely control the behaviour of other guests. However, perhaps the hotel could consider assigning large school or student groups to specific floors or areas, away from other guests, to minimise disruption. We had actually prepaid for another night at the same hotel, so we hope our next stay will be quieter and that we will have a better experience. Aside from the noise issue, we liked the hotel’s modern, clean environment and would be happy to recommend it if the sound and group-management issues can be improved.
