"Beim Posthalter" Vacation Rental (180 m²) on the 2nd floor, accommodating 1–5 people.
Make yourself at home in our 180 m² vacation apartment with a view of Oberammergau’s most famous mountain—the Kofel. Here, 1–5 adults can enjoy their free time. Relax in our cozy, Bavarian-style living room or on the spacious rooftop terrace (50 m²). The large kitchen-diner is fully equipped and features a spacious dining area that seats the whole family. In addition, the apartment features (up to) 3 bedrooms—1 double bedroom, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds (with a sink in the room), and 1 single bedroom—as well as a large, naturally lit bathroom with a shower, bathtub, 2 sinks, and a toilet. There is also a separate toilet. Starting in fall 2021, an additional sofa bed for 2 people will be available in the living room (sleeping area 150x200 cm). Wi-Fi is available free of charge.
Children are very welcome here. Baby/child equipment (crib, high chair, etc.) is available upon request.
In addition to the standard occupancy, one child (up to 5 years old) can stay in the parents’ bed free of charge. For children up to 100 cm in height, an extra bed (crib) is available upon request.

Our house is located in the heart of Oberammergau. In the part of the building constructed in 1898, we rent out two lovingly furnished double rooms and a vacation apartment to guests who appreciate the charm of days gone by.
Enjoy the best days of the year high above the rooftops of Oberammergau and admire the view of the town and the Ammergau Alps from your accommodations.
Oberammergau is famous for its Passion Plays, which take place every ten years… But our town and the entire region have much more to offer.
Our house—the birthplace of Ludwig Thoma—is the ideal starting point for exploring Oberammergau and the surrounding area. All year round, there’s a wide variety of activities for young and old, singles, couples, and families—whether you’re seeking peace and quiet or are an active or culture-loving traveler.

On-site costs: Payment terms: • A 30% deposit is due at the time of booking. • Balance due: 21 days before arrival. • No security deposit is required. • Prices do not include the visitor’s tax. • Cancellation policy: 90% of the booking price if the accommodation cannot be re-rented—we recommend purchasing travel cancellation insurance. Children: • Children are very welcome here! • Baby equipment (high chair, playpen, etc.) available upon request. • Crib (for children up to 100 cm tall, 10€/night) available upon request. • Children up to 5 years old stay free in their parents’ bed. • Stroller storage space available on the first floor. Other: • Take advantage of our offer for free train and bus travel in the region (bus stops within a 400-meter radius). Parking available on the property. • The accommodations are located in the city center: butcher shops, bakeries, grocery stores, doctors, pharmacies, banks/ATMs, and retail stores are all within a 250-meter radius.
