Harvey Chartres - Résidence Sport & Lifestyle

Chartres ontdekken vanuit Harvey is prima: zeer goede locatie. Mooie schone ruime kamer met koelkast en keukenblokje. Lijkt alsof je in de keuken slaapt, maar dat voelt toch niet zo. Net nieuw, dus schoon en netjes. Goed ontbijt, mooie zaal ook hiervoor.

Wel koffie en thee op de kamer, maar geen kopjes. Parkeergarage was even zoeken: moet vooraf geregeld worden.

Very good breakfast. Helpful staff. Secure parking for our vehicle. Good central location.

Perfect location, super helpful and friendly staff. The room was comfortable, spacious, clean and well equipped. The kitchenette was perfect and had almost everything we needed - the "kitchen welcome pouch" is genius but a tea towel for a kitchenette lite that is a must and it was missing. The parking felt secure and was convenient for being right in the centre of the city. The breakfast had everything you would like from a French breakfast. The hotel is right next to the train station but you can't hear the trainline at all.

The biggest problem which actually spoilt the stay for us was that the bar/restaurant serves as a night club. Our room was on the fourth floor and both Friday and Saturday nights our room was booming with the music from 2 floors below. Initially we thought it was one of the residents relaxing after work. It became a real inconvenience on Saturday night, as we had an early start on Sunday to catch the ferry back to the UK, and the music was blaring until after midnight. I think the hotel has confused priorities by trying to be everything to everyone, whilst the reality is you can't provide a comfortable accommodation for guest travellers if you also want to provide rowdy night life in the bar. This isn't clearly advertised on the listing and the reviews are suspiciously quiet about this compared to the reviews on Google Maps (which we haven't checked before booking). Maybe it's not the same on weekdays, but for us it was the worst timing. Which is a real shame because if it wasn't for that we would definitely want to come back.
