The staff went above and beyond to give us the best experience and make us feel welcome. Food options were good but could have been for vegetarians.

A pure luxury experience! We were given an upgrade, and the views from the property were absolutely spectacular. Special mention to the staff, Prakash and Aranya : they were so kind, helpful, and generous, making sure we were taken care of from start to finish. They even accommodated special breakfast requirements, like my sister's insistence on brown bread and muesli, without any issue. It's rare to come across this level of hospitality. The property itself was spotlessly clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and this was easily one of our best stays in Sri Lanka.

Our stay was disappointing in several ways. While the room itself was comfortable and well designed, it was freezing. There was heating, but the warm air rose to the ceiling and the room never felt properly warm. The WiFi in our room didn’t work. We were told someone would come to fix it, but no one ever did. We booked last minute and our room faced a street overlooking a supermarket storage area and a building under construction. We understand the hotel may have been full, but it’s hard to justify charging a high rate for this type of room. We also ordered dinner, which took over an hour to arrive. I had to go to reception to ask about it. When it finally came, the chicken burger was very poor quality and definitely not worth the price. After dinner, we called to have the tray collected and were told to leave it outside the room. The next day, the tray with the dirty dishes was still there. The service overall was not particularly friendly. It felt like a large corporate hotel where the attention to detail and personal touch you find in smaller properties is missing. On a positive note, the restaurant has beautiful views and the breakfast was decent. There were a few Mediterranean-style options, although most dishes were quite heavy, such as chicken curry and similar plates.

Overall, for the price paid, the experience was quite disappointing. My recommendation would be to focus on improving service quality and staff attentiveness. There seemed to be plenty of staff, yet the service fell short of expectations.
