Hope and Anchor Inn

Charming, lovely hosts & a good nights rest after arriving late on the ferry. It is walkable from the ferry.

I had no issues.

Friendly welcome from Host, Chris. Great location only a few minutes from Fishguard Ferry Terminal. Handy Council car parking at rear. Very quiet once the pub closed. Our 11.15pm arrival was not a problem. Lovely self-served continental breakfast. Helpful waitress. Basic, clean accommodation.

As an older visitor, I would have liked a non slip bathmat to feel safe in the bath when showering.

The Hope and Anchor team were incredibly hospitable, very down to earth people. Made to feel very at home in short space of time, good conversationalists and keep a fabulous hotel. They kept the bar open late to play World Cup football matches for their clientele which was just what I'd hoped for. I can't comment on the food as I ate whilst out on foot during the day but the pints were fresh tasting and reasonably priced. My room was a good price and tidy. Wasn't even in there much to give more detail. Also conveniently placed almost next door to the local rail station so transport links for a person like me who doesn't drive was a definite plus. Also a stones throw away from the ferry terminal for those travelling to Ireland.

There were some minor negative observations as in there was signs of water on the pool table and the TV in the recreation room wasn't working but aside from that, all good.

Room was in dire need of repair . Bed side Lights were unusable. One had the toggle missing completely and the other was a very small piece of string . No plug socket near beds. One socket taped up with silver tape. The room was right above the bar and the loud noise was unbearable. Sounded like a party and continued until 12.30am. Maybe it would have been quieter if not a Saturday night. The bed was a very small double
