Berlin Sleep Club

The location was fabulous. The communication was extremely responsive. The bed was so comfortable that I booked a second night. The bathroom was clean and the shower had nice hot water.

There were thick curtains around each bed, so even though it was a dormitory room, you could have a quiet, cozy space when you were in bed. Also the location is great, with lots of nice restaurants near the hostel. You really get a relaxed Berlin vibe in this area. And the famous Rüyam Kebab is less than a 10-minute walk from the hostel!

I was a bit surprised when I first arrived at the hostel because I expected there to be a reception desk, like in most hostels. But there wasn’t one, and all the instructions were sent by email. I can understand it, though, since having staff on-site would increase the cost. And everything went basically smoothly without any face-to-face communication with the staff. It just would have been better if I had known this before I arrived.

Location location location. Value for money. Beds were comfortable. Neighbours were quiet and respectful.

Missing pillowcases. Stuff leftover from previous tenant. Shower clogged and spilled into the corridor. No interaction with any staff.

The location was good for my purposes. As information, because I missed it when booking: The hostel doesn’t have a reception. The whole check-in process is done online and you can get access to the rooms through Bluetooth on your phone. The staff is easily reachable by phone though.

There was no soap or shampoo in any of the dispensers and no paper towels. The towel and pillow cover were still slightly wet, so not fully dried after washing. Their online check-in system allows for changing beds, but that is then not updated in the system. When I arrived someone else was in my bed. I called and was assigned another bed. But then my new bed got reassigned to someone else in the middle of my stay, because the system hadn’t been updated.
