This was a lovely place to stay. It was a good base to explore parts of London we wanted to explore and a very comfortable home which had everything that we could possibly need for the five days we stayed. Everything about the house is really well thought out with clear, though discreet, information about how things work and lovely art work and decoration add to the enjoyment and comfort. The host gave loads of helpful information about transport options, local shops and cafes which was much appreciated. Highly recommended.

Krista was AMAZING! Explorer's Rest was the perfect English home for us to explore London and feel safe and at home. She was communities helpful and SO welcoming. She made us feel like family. We hung out with the locals at a local.pub and that made our stay that much more enjoyable. She welcomed us with a gift basket and our girls loved it. This home was a perfect place to explore and enjoy London. It was a quiet local neighborhood. The neighbors were even friendly. We will stay here again if ever in London! Krista is a new friend! Communication between Krista and our group was superb. Several suggestions along with pins and maps and transit routes were provided in advance which made our arrival much smoother. Location was great and due to my laziness we didn't utilize the bus system which would save one approx 12 each way to the train stations. My choice. Woolwich has every mode of transportation needed. It was an experience coming from a NO RAIL territory.The house was efficient, very clean and provided us everything we needed. A wonderful gift basket upon arrival was appreciated.Little did I know we would use the fireplace in summer but that's London wet/damp for you. The neighborhood is very quiet and there's a cute Cafe minutes away.I take pride in avoiding hotels. We prefer to embed in daily lifestyles/rituals and staying in homes around the world affords us a different and interesting perspective on how others live. Krista's home and community will expose you to a day in the life of a commoner.Wonderdul experience.

This was our second stop on our 3 week tour of Ireland and the UK in March 2016.
First off - Krista is simply AMAZING. She is a very genuine and caring person, and gladly helped us with our questions (we had SO many questions as this was our first time in London.) When we arrived she had a welcome basket with homemade treats, maps/brochures to EVERYTHING we would want to see and even a birthday banner and balloons (we were there on my birthday) and Easter surprise (my 4 year old LOVED the little Easter egg hunt she set up.) She is very meticulous about everything in the home; we had everything we needed to cook and had info about ANYTHING we could think of (near by stores, good eats, bus/train/underground maps etc.) You can tell that this home is a labor or love, it is beautifully decorated, updated and modern yet homey (toys, movies, reusable grocery bags, Oyster cards, not to mention a beautiful yard (British viewers, read: garden) If you get a chance, read the info/photo book about the history of the house and all they've done to it, it's very interesting. The house is just around the corner from a bus stop which was perfect for us - we used public transportation religiously! We never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a bus, train, or the underground (except when the Jubilee line went down... now that was an adventure.) It's close enough to the city center to not feel out of the loop but far enough away that it was a quiet retreat after a long day of sight-seeing. My only regret is that we didn't have a chance to meet Krista and her husband as we were overwhelmed with sight-seeing and had so many early (2am) days. We absolutely loved staying there, and if we ever got the chance to go back to London we would love to stay there again!
