Helios is on a quiet street, in the centre of the lovely town of Conversano. Conversano is known for its medieval castle, winding lanes and delicious cherries that are grown in the orchards surrounding the town. It is just 10km from the coast, so guests can get the best of both worlds - stunning history and the pristine Adriatic beaches. One of the most striking beaches in Italy is Lama Monachile, Polignano a Mare (15 minutes). The white sandy beach is small, but the water is clear and a great place for snorkelling.
Not to be missed is Alberobello (35 minutes), which looks like something from a fairytale. It is a town of Trulli - the small, conical houses only found in this part of Italy and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Famous for championing the Slow Food movement, the restaurants and cafés are a must.
Shops, cafés and other amenities are all within easy reach. Conversano’s vibrant, weekly market (Friday morning from 7.30am) is the best place to pick up the best local produce and to shop like a local.
The closest airport is at Bari, a 45-minute drive from the residence.
