The mudflats directly in front of the dyke are part of the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park. The Sehestedter Außendeichsmoor on the Jade Bay near the Jader district of Sehestedt is unique. The ten-hectare area, also known as the "floating moor", has been part of the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park since 1986. A "salt marsh adventure trail" and the national park adventure centre are also part of the Sehestedt lido. Dykes and dykes characterise the face of the marshland. The season-independent seawater spring pool in Dangast is popular. For swimming, there is the "ffn-Friesenstrand" in Tossens and the North Sea lagoon in Burhave.
