Location away from city noise close to forest and hike area

Some of the aspects like putting a wire mesh in the windows and door tops could prevent ingress of insects in rainy season

Nous avons passé 3 nuits sur Ella dans cet établissement, et nous nous sommes sentis comme à la maison. Les nuits sont calmes et vous serez à l’écart de l’agitation du centre ville. Le petit salon partagé et la salle à manger sont vraiment très agréables pour y passer du temps. Les deux propriétaires sont aux petits soins, ils préparent des super petits-déjeuners et proposent leur service de laundry qui est extrêmement rapide et efficace. Ils sont tous les deux adorables, chaleureux, et l’un d’eux parlent parfaitement anglais. Nous avons passé de très bons moments grâce à eux et leur professionnalisme, merci encore ✨

Malheureusement il fait assez humide dans les chambres, et comme il pleut beaucoup dans cette région, les serviettes de bain et les vêtements sont rapidement humides et mettent beaucoup de temps à sécher 🥺

It had a beautiful view over a tea field, delicious breakfasts, was very clean and tranquil and had an incredibly helpful host who arranged transport for us, advised us on hikes and trails and recommended an excellent tea plantation excursion. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.

The property was quite close to the road so there was occasional traffic noise.

The host, Bandara, was a good guy and was always happy to accommodate our requests. The views were beautiful and the surroundings were peaceful during the day. They had an open-plan TV lounge with little plants. There was hot water in the washrooms.

The property is located high up in the jungle. Although we drove there ourselves, travelling to the property at night felt quite dangerous due to the location and roads. There was parking space for only one vehicle. There were lots of insects around the property and the sound of insects at night was quite loud, which is understandable given the jungle location. Kinda felt there wasn't enough ventilation and was also scared to keep the windows open. We had a few bugs in our bed. The rooms we were given did not look like the main photos shown in the listing. They were more similar to the rooms shown towards the end of the photos. The rooms also had very little or no sound privacy. There were gaps/holes in the walls which allowed light in early in the morning and also meant that sounds from inside the rooms could be heard outside. We were not very comfortable with this. The laundry service felt quite expensive at LKR 800 per kg. Unfortunately, some of our T-shirts also shrank, possibly because the correct washing temperature was not used. Whereas we were only charged LKR 350 in the town for laundry services. Also be careful with the tuktuks around here they charge so much high up here and their reasoning is "it's because it's a tourist area". One guy charged us LKR 500 to a journey where normally it would only cost about LKR 100-150.
