There was nothing like it

The room was clean and renovated, comfortable bed, good air conditioning.

It looked like we were booking a room with a view of the mountain, but the photos and the description were misleading. Instead, the room had the view to the street side, which was trashy and noisy. I was told that “It’s the same”, technically the size of the room and the amenities were identical, however we would have booked another place with the view as Rishikesh is full of it, for the same price. The location itself was hectic and away from the main parts of the city. It just looked like the statf didin’t want to bother and help us with things like booking tickets or upgrading the room for an extra price. At the end they did help with some things, thanks for that. I was asked to pay before explained where everything in the hotel is. I was surprised it had this high rating as we didint feel that welcomed, compared to all the other wonderfull places we’ve been in India. Overall, it wasn’t bad, wasnt great either.

We ate at Moti Mahal restaurant at SaltStayz. The palak paneer dish was not fresh and gave us severe indigestion and nausea. We stayed for 4 nights and the breakfast menu was absolutely the same every single day. No variety offered. The bell boy at check in demanded a ‘charge’ as he called it for bringing our luggage to the room. Appliances like the hair dryer was broken, kettle and fan regulator were dysfunctional. Housekeeping was average.
