Once at the top, you have a breathtaking 360° view, and in the village is the parish church of St George from 1927, which was built on the site of an earlier church from 1556. Next to it is the 15 metre high bell tower from 1557 with a Glagolitic inscription and the Gothic church of St. Rochus with frescoes from the 15th century.the appearance of Sovinjak dates back to the time of the ancient Romans.the Roman castrum "Castellum Pucinum" was located here. The famous Pucinum wine, which comes from this area, was even served at the Roman imperial court. According to legend, Livia Drusilla, the wife of Emperor Augustus and the mother of Emperor Tiberius, drank only this wine. You won't find the Pucinum wine variety today, but there are other top wines, and apart from top wines, the immediate surroundings are known for olive oil, white truffles and gourmet restaurants.
