The Maids Head Hotel

The staff were great, very friendly, we also really enjoyed the tour in the Bentley this really stood out. I liked that there were mirrors in the bedroom near plugs, it's amazing how many rooms don't get this right.

I did not like our room, simply there was too much furniture in it, I could not walk around the bed as the table and chairs were right by it and looked out of place. There was also a sofa bed, that made it seem like a family room. I ended up having to move furniture around. We thought we were getting an exec room, the standard fell short in my view against others I have stayed in. The bathroom was good, it's was frustrating that there was no conditioner in the room (people with long hair need this)! there was also no body lotion, I mention this as the pictures show small bottles so I expected these things to be there and did not pack either. There was noise from Disco both nights, useful that reception gave us a heads up and it did not impact our sleep but one to factor when your booking if you are a light sleeper. It was a shame we were staying for my mum special birthday and we both felt a bit disappointed with the room. In the bar, staff lacked experience on making drinks.

We had a room at the front which had 4 fans to keep it cool. Horrendous noise from establishment opposite playing live music until late into the night coupled with loud traffic noise made it very unpleasant. Double glazed windows impossible to fully close and shut out the din. Offered us a change of room which was totally unsuitable as had a spiral staircase so we had to stay and have a noisy night.
