Imagine arriving via the iconic N222 and discovering a cozy home nestled between the Douro and Arda rivers. Upon entering ROOT by the River, you immediately feel the tranquility that defines this place — an authentic retreat in the heart of Pedorido.

In the morning, enjoy serene views over the Douro River. Your day can start with a refreshing dip at the Choupal River Beach, right next door, or with a more active experience, like stand-up paddleboarding in the Croca area, gliding gently across the calm waters of the Arda River.

In the afternoon, time seems to slow down. You can relax on the terrace, read a book to the sound of nature, or take a stroll along the surrounding trails, where the landscape invites you to unwind and breathe deeply.

Delight in the local cuisine at nearby restaurants, where traditional flavors complete the experience.

Here, the neighbors welcome you warmly, and the atmosphere is genuine and inviting.

With space for up to 6 guests, this is the perfect place to create lasting memories — whether for a peaceful getaway, a family trip, or a reunion with friends. At ROOT by the River, every stay is an opportunity to disconnect from the fast pace of daily life and reconnect with nature, with others, and with yourself.
