We picked this property for its convenient location and exceptional views. It was great for both reasons. It was convenient in that we wanted to stay close to the Oblia / Smerelda Coast airport--only 15-20 minutes drive away. We were wrapping up our 2-weeks in Sardinia and needed to be near the airport for our flight out the next day. And it was located "in-town" to walk around and be right by the marina for possible excursions to Isola Tavolara. To be honest, there were just two of us, so an entire 3-room unit with all the appliances (kitchen, full-size refrigerator, washer & dryer) was way beyond what we needed. But still I chose this because of the advertised views of Isola Tavolara. It had a fantastic view of the island from the living / dining room, master bedroom, and large covered balcony. And we spent hours just staring at that beautiful rock. Twice we brought back take-out meals and drinks and just ate them on the covered balcony--none of the restaurants had as good a view as we had on our balcony. Tavolara Rock is exceptionally beautiful at any time of the day--from before the sun's rise to the final sun rays of the evening. The property itself was great, lots of room, well-kept, clean, and with free private parking right outside the door. For food and drink, I recommend the nearby DeMarco Pizza place, For coffee, we found that Bar Central had the best cappuccinos and pastries. All best brought back to your property's balcony with its magical views.

Despite the great location and exceptional views, the property was a bit expensive. The lodging price was OK but the add-on fees drove me to rate the "value-for-money" as only fair (2 on a scale of 4). These add-on fees included about $85 for the linen and towels (which had to be paid in cash upon check in); and per stay cleaning fee of about $250 (which is expensive for a two night stay). These are costs that would already be included in typical hotel room rates. In total, these add-on fees drove our costs up to about $475 per night. It would provide more value-for-money to use this 3-bedroom property if you have 4-6 people and stay for 4-5 days or a full week. You could do your own cooking or bring in take-out meals. But I'm not sure you could find a week's worth to do in Porto Sao Paolo. Compared to other Sardinia locations there is not that much to do there other than stare at Isola Tavolara. The local beach looked OK. But the horribly negative customer ratings deterred us from taking the ferry to Tavolara (ferry company Tavolara Traghetti e Gite), or from eating in the one restaurant on that island (Ristorante da Tonino). We did not take any of the other boat excursion cruises (to Tavolara and Molara) but those might be nice if you like to snorkel or SCUBA dive.
