Tucked away in a quiet area of Deal, just minutes from the beach, station and castle, this beautifully restored three bedroom house with private parking has been thoughtfully renovated with holidays in mind. Perfect for families, the house offers comfortable and practical living just a short stroll from the beach, the charming High Street and the many cafés, restaurants and independent shops that make the seaside town of Deal so special. Inside, the house has been carefully designed to make your stay as easy and comfortable as possible. The living spaces are welcoming and relaxed, while the kitchen is well equipped with a gas oven, electric hob, Ninja air fryer, microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher, providing everything you need for cooking at home after a day exploring the coast.
Upstairs you will find three beautifully styled bedrooms, two doubles and one bunk bed room, with full size single beds. The layout of the house is ideal for families, or couples, with two newly renovated bathrooms available. Each bedroom has been fitted with built in fast charging sockets and USB C and Lightning cables are already provided in every room, making it easy to charge phones and devices during your stay. High speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the house, making this a great choice if you need to stay connected or combine a seaside break with a little remote working. Outside, there is a small terrace next to the private off road parking space, which is a real bonus in Deal where parking can be limited. A table and chairs are stored in the shed and guests are very welcome to use them during their stay. One small dog is welcome to join you on your stay, so the whole family can enjoy a seaside escape in beautiful Deal.

Bedroom Two (The Blue Room)
Sleeps 2, with full size adult bunk beds with high ceilings, ideal for families or groups. The drawers under the lower bunk pull out for clothes storage. Fast charging sockets and cables provided.

Bedroom Three, Ensuite (The Pink Room)
Sleeps 2, with Double bed, blackout curtains, dressing table, reading chair and a private en suite shower room. Fast charging sockets and cables provided.

The house has no ground floor bedrooms or bathrooms. However, the stairs here are not particularly steep.

Please note check out is 10am. Please ensure you vacate on time to allow our housekeepers to enter the property and prepare it for the next guests.
Smoking is not permitted in the property at any time.
Please note for insurance purposes the number of guests must not exceed the total occupancy of the house.
For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property.
Please be respectful to neighbours. Quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am.
Parties and loud music are not permitted.

Overall this is nicely refurbished accommodation in a good location near shops and the beach. It has been quirkily accessorised, well furnished and nicely decorated. However there were sadly lots of niggles. Kitchen is small, fridge opens on the wrong side - the kitchen door and wall obstruct access. The cookware provided is not safe, pans are flimsy and tip over on the hob. The utensils are cheap, the tongs do not work! No privacy blind on the landing window. Washbasin in the bathroom on the middle floor is too small for the tap, water splashes everywhere, no shower over the bath, the en suite upstairs had the only shower. Dining room and table & chairs are shabby. Outside seating area is grim, near the bins, opposite the car, next to a scruffy shed. Never used it. Parking is challenging you have to reverse out on to a main road or reverse into the narrow space past 3 cars, a warning pre arrival would have been helpful.
Keepers Cottages was fine with the booking. I wish we had been sent a pdf of all the info in the cottage file before we arrived. When we requested a fan for a baby during the July heatwave, I was told we should bring our own which seems unreasonable. Company staff seemed shocked to be told that extreme heat can kill babies. If you are running a business like this you need to be fully aware of health and safety issues. One fan was thankfully supplied. No ice trays in the freezer - these were supplied quickly. Sink plug didn't work so we had to request a washing up bowl which was supplied quickly. The oven had not been cleaned. No instructions for the washer. The casement windows were tough to open. Overall we were comfortable but I've stayed in much nicer places with more attention paid to detail, practicality and comfort. It isn't enough to just add a highchair and travel cot and claim it is child friendly - think about what babies need, eg where will the parent fix a baby monitor, supply a bath mat to stop a baby (or an elderly person) slipping. Above all think of providing fans in bedrooms. Our weather is getting hotter year on year.

Lovely cottage, parts that we used were beautifully clean. Disappointed with outdoor space, not really dog friendly at all. In fact not a very pretty place to sit.

The Mariners Retreat accommodated our party of 6 in great comfort and style. The property is finished and equipped to a very high standard. The location is superb, with everything you could wish for within walking distance: shops, seaside and two castles to explore. Altogether a delightful place to be.
