The narrow streets of the small coastal village of Cley-next-the-Sea are lined with unique shops as well as two good pubs, tea shops, a delicatessen and a smokehouse. It also boasts a magnificent 14th-century church, a landmark windmill and - between the village and the sea - a renowned nature reserve that offers some of the UK’s best birdwatching. Take a boat trip from Blakeney (1.5 miles) to see the grey seal colony, head to the sandy beach at Wells (10.5 miles) or visit the Palladian mansion and deer park at Holkham (12 miles).
