The Space:

Afonwy House has four king-size (zip/link can twin on request), along with a bathroom, a shower room, a cloakroom, and an open-plan living space with kitchen, dining area and sitting area, with an adjoining utility. Appliances include an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, and dishwasher. For entertainment there is a TV with Freesat and WiFi. A travel cot and highchair are also available. Outside, there is a rear garden with a hot tub, patio, decking, furniture, barbecue area, and lockable bike storage and maintenance facilities with roll-front door. Two well-behaved pets are welcome. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent. Sorry, this is a smoke-free property. You can find a shop and pub within 0.1 mile. Note: There are steps down from the decking to the patio. Enjoy a break with family and friends at Afonwy House.



The Neighborhood:

Rhayader is a small Welsh market town with a selection of tea rooms, pubs, restaurants, amenities and unique little boutiques, including local antiques. An added bonus of a leisure centre with a large swimming pool and a weekly livestock market. The Red Kite Feeding Station, on the outskirts of the town is a great attraction not to be missed. Rhayader is the first town on the River Wye and is home to the spectacular dams and reservoirs of the Elan and Claerwen Valleys. The Elan Valley offers a variety of walks and cycle trails (cycle hire is available in Rhayader), as well as a visitor’s centre with café and children's play area. This area is known as the Wildlife Centre of Wales, with its amazing variety of nature reserves open for visitors to enjoy. There is also pony trekking available in the area. Visit Builth Wells, where the Spring Festival, Royal Welsh Agricultural Show and Winter Fair are all held annually. Alternatively, a scenic drive will take you to the Welsh coast 34 miles away.
