Absolute scam

I didn’t stay here but this place is falsely advertised. I couldn’t get hold of the person for hours, meant to check in at 3pm but they replied at 6pm even then after one message no reply. I got let in by the cleaners and the minute I walked in there I knew this was a scam. Place is nothing like what you see on booking, and to top it off I can’t seem to get my refund and booking com seems like they can’t do much either

Due to an unexpected event, the owner found a better accommodation for us

The owner excused for the mishap - a leak in the room we booked and offered us an alternative - her own bedroom in her own flat, also gave us tea. She was very hospitable and we slept very well. We'll sure recommend her.

When we arrived at the property we could not get in. We did not get the key code. I could not contact the owner because of the bad mobile reception in the area. After 2 attempts to get the customer service, they managed to contact the owner who came to meet me and showed us in, offered tea and because it was not possible to use the room we booked, she offered to accommodate us in her own flat in Henley instead.

Ideal for two travellers looking for a cheaper option

Location was excellent with a bus stop nearby and only 20-30min walk into city centre. Shared kitchen with other people had everything we could have needed. The lady is charge was absolutely lovely, checked in frequently and accommodated us (within reason) the best she could.

Feels as if I rented a room in a squat! Should not be allowed

Still find it hard to believe that a property in such a poor state of repair is being used for rental. No conditions whatsoever and should not be allowed to rent a room. Unexplainable lack of security, a padlock on a door that only attach on a top rail left me feeling unable to leave any valuable in the room. Plus a back door that did not lock or had a key. This property looked like a bad abandoned squat.
