Newly renovated, authentic Canarian 42-square-meter house built from stacked basalt volcanic stones. Some walls are left in their natural state (see photos). The ceilings are insulated and all systems are state-of-the-art; living-dining room with kitchenette, bedroom with a nostalgic double bed, bathroom, and rooftop terrace with a view of the sea and, at the back, the majestic Mount Teide (at 3,715 m above sea level, Spain’s highest mountain).

The house is located in the north on a finca in the small mountain village of La Vega, above Icod los Vinos, on a hillside about 580 m above sea level (lush and green, not quite as hot and dry as in the south). A small supermarket is about 200 m away, a small restaurant (bar, café) is within sight, and the bus stop is about 250 m away.

As seen in the pictures, on the 1,800 m² property at the entrance (carport) there is a huge, old palm tree, next to it are small Canary Island apricot trees, a mandarin tree, three fig trees, a laurel tree, man-sized cacti, and two bellflower trees.

It takes about 15 minutes to drive to the beaches (1,600 m as the crow flies), it’s about a 15-minute drive to Playa de San Marcos, one of the most beautiful beaches in the north, which isn’t too crowded. (There’s also a bus route from La Vega via Icod los Vinos.) It’s up to 20 minutes to Puerto de la Cruz, the second-largest city on Tenerife, and about 50 minutes to Tenerife South Airport or 30 minutes to Tenerife North Airport.

The finca is not far from Drago Park and other natural attractions, such as the Cueva del Viento (caves) and the Tide National Park. About 40 km away is the Bosque de la Esperanza, arguably the largest eucalyptus forest in Europe. Or the Masca Gorge, about 20 km away.... So it’s the perfect place to relax in nature

It consists of an open-concept room with a kitchenette, a sofa bed with a table, a small dining table with 3 chairs, and a bedroom with a nostalgic double bed and a second TV. The bathroom is well-equipped with everything you need, including a hair dryer. The small kitchenette includes pots, a pan, dishes, silverware, dish soap, as well as everything you’ll need for the first few days—such as spices, sugar, flour, salt, sunflower oil, butter, eggs, mineral water, coffee, tea, beer, wine, sangria, etc.

Lleiner grocery store 200 m away, small restaurant 300 m away. Lidl and other larger supermarkets are located in Icod los Vinos, a 5-minute drive away. There’s a small restaurant within sight, and several more in El Ampara, just a 5-minute drive away (including a seafood restaurant and several Italian restaurants). In nearby Icod los Vinos, there are at least 50 restaurants, including some right on the beach. Then there’s Puerto de la Cruz, the largest city in the north, a 20-minute drive away, where you’ll find over 100 restaurants, including many right on the beach.
