Happy Boutique Hotel - Grand Place

This hotel is in a lovely old building with a steep traditional staircase and feels a long way from a commercial chain. The rooms are small but functional, clean and well maintained. The staff are largely absent (in five days, we saw one staff member for about two minutes) but the system works well and we had no trouble checking in and out on our own.

This hotel is in a very noisy and not at all beautiful street - we had buses thundering past our window 24/7, sirens at all hours, lots of drunken shouting, lots of fumes. In the ground floor room, you really feel as if you're in the street itself. The attic room is better, but still very noisy. And it has a shower which leaks all over the bathroom and into the room if you're in it for longer than a minute or two. But the overall vibe of the hotel is positive.

Our room was quite satisfactory, though a tad on the small side. The room got a little warm at night but the fan helped. It was noisy with a window open but got surprisingly quiet when all the windows were shut. The location was outstanding. The shower and bathroom were also excellent. It was quite clean and the wifi worked well.

The stairs, which some others have complained about, weren't too bad. As mentioned, the room got a little warm at night (we were there the end of September 2026 when the high during the day was about 70 degrees F). Overall the room is a bit tight but it was not advertised as being spacious and I'm totally fine with that.

The room was cozy and we were happy a pillar was was available for use. The steps are a bit tough to get up and down with luggage but we managed. Breakfast was delicious with all its local fare

Nice breakfast and good service when we took breakfast. Good location for sightseeing and citywalk at Brux. Also, it's easy to use train if we want to travel to other cities.

1st, it's not so good for the guests who has heavy luggage, while this house has no lift. And the stair was too nallow to climb，if you took 28feet case with you. 2nd, it's noise in night as the room at street side. Hard to take good sleep for relax. 3rd, almost no service except breakfast: i sent message to the house manager to complain the problem of lights in my room. But no feedback at all.
