This pocket of Poipu gives you two different beach moods close together. Poipu Beach is a good choice for swimming and snorkeling, while Brennecke's can be livelier when the bodysurfing waves are up. After the sand, Koloa and Poipu offer restaurants, groceries, shave ice, and sunset dinner choices without a long drive. Spouting Horn is nearby for a short outing that gets the whole family outside. It is a South Shore location that rewards travelers who like to decide the day as they go.



Getting Around:

Lihue Airport is about 30 to 40 minutes away, a pretty drive across Kauai's south shore. A rental car is recommended to reach Poipu's beaches, Koloa town's shops, and nearby dining with ease. Old Koloa Town is walkable for boutiques and restaurants, while beautiful beaches are just a short drive away. Parking is generally available on site or in small lots around town.
