The Nordic Nest is a newly constructed cozy 3-bedroom cabin. It is a short 1/2-mile walk to Winthrop over the new pedestrian bridge. Also within walking distance to pizza and the grocery store. Excellent proximity to Methow Trails trailhead and the ice rink.

Enjoy antique winter-equipment decor, local artisan craftsmanship, and furniture throughout the cabin. Get cozy in the window seat or snuggle up on the leather couches while enjoying the propane fireplace—a great location to view wildlife such as deer, wild turkeys, and bald eagles.

The full kitchen is equipped with a coffee maker, French press, grinder, crockpot, griddle, microwave, blender, and, dare I say, martini shaker. There is good phone reception for major carriers. The kitchen island seats 6, barstool-style, with TV trays available as well.

Internet service is available, and there is a DVD/video library to enjoy on the flat-screen. The Nordic Nest is also stocked with traditional board games. After a long day of outdoor adventure, rejuvenate on one of our 3 queen memory foam beds.


EXTREMELY IMPORTANT YEAR-ROUND TRAVEL INFORMATION--READ BEFORE BOOKING A RESERVATION:
1) It is the responsibility of the guest to have travel plans in place to travel either over the North Cascades via Highway 20 OR to travel over Stevens Pass through Leavenworth OR to travel I-90 over Snoqualmie to Blewett Pass through Wenatchee and then up the Columbia River to the Methow Valley. If one route is closed, it is YOUR responsibility to make alternative travel plans. NO REFUNDS will be given at any time of the year simply because an alternate route must be taken, adding additional travel time. Highway 20 is closed in the winter, and mountain passes can be closed at any time of the year due to wildfires, rockslides, or other events. Directions over all the routes will be sent to you 3 days before your arrival. Make sure to check the pass reports (and they can change while you are en route) and print out the directions before you leave.

2) Trail Access/Closure Information:
If you are coming to hike, bike, or ski on a trail or system of trails which happen to be closed before or during your stay, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN because of this. Trail closures can occur at any time due to fire, rockslides, mudflows... and we have no control over them. There are many hiking and biking trails of various kinds in the Methow Valley. If access to the North Cascades is closed via Hwy 20 for any reason, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN because of this. There are beautiful hikes in and around our valley that we would be happy to recommend.

IMPORTANT WINTER INFORMATION POLICY :
**Should you travel to the Methow during the winter months, it is important to understand that you must be prepared for winter driving(keep chains, shovel...in the car) and all the inconveniences it causes you and the community you are visiting. The weather can be extreme, with heavy snowfall, unexpected technical issues, frozen pipes, and impassable roads/driveways. If it snows while you are here, you will have to wait for plow service, just like everyone else in the valley. There are a limited number of plow companies and Methow Reservations nor the owners of the house are in control of the plow company schedules. They have many different contracts and many miles of roads and driveways to plow. If a plow person or a snow shoveler shows up to clear any area around the house, please do not argue with them or turn them away. Move your vehicles if asked. Your cooperation and patience are required, especially after any significant snow accumulation. Should you get stuck, you can call Classic Towing in Twisp, WA.

**WEATHER CONDITIONS**

We cannot be responsible for weather conditions. If you will be arriving during the winter, please be sure you have proper equipment for driving in the snow, and carry tire chains for driving over the passes. Our local roads are always kept open and in good condition for winter travel. There are no refunds for road closures; however, if both the Stevens and Snoqualmie mountain passes are closed for more than 8 hours and the closures prevent you from reaching the property, you may reschedule your stay to arrive within 3 months of the pass closures. Please note that the North Cascades Pass is always closed during winter.

We recommend you check weather conditions before driving through the passes during the winter, either through the DOT's website.

**Propane Fireplace--The propane stove is a supplemental heating source, not the main one. If there are any tech issues with the propane fireplace during your stay, please send a message through VRBO.

Methow Reservations and the owner will try to troubleshoot and remedy the problem. If the problem requires a part or there is an issue with the propane company that may take longer than your stay, NO REFUNDS will be given. The guest will use the main electric heating source at any time the propane stove is out of operation.
