Just a few minutes away lies the picturesque town of Murnau on the Staffelsee, the heart of the “Blue Land” and the former home of artists Franz Marc and Gabriele Münter—a stroll through the historic center or a boat ride on the Staffelsee is always worthwhile. Hiking enthusiasts can explore trails into the Alpine foothills and toward the Ammergau Alps, while cyclists can enjoy the lakeside paths around Riegsee and Staffelsee. Cultural highlights include the Wieskirche (UNESCO), the Andechs Monastery Beer Garden, and the moorland landscape of the Osterseen.
