O tym ten wynajem wakacyjny
Ember Rise is a three-bedroom Daylesford home built around a fireplace. Bi-fold doors open the living room onto a private landscaped courtyard with a BBQ. Two king bedrooms (one with ensuite) and a queen, two bathrooms with walk-in showers and a bath, for six guests. Stone-bench kitchen, laundry, Wi-Fi and a desk. A quiet street a couple of minutes from town, so cafés, the lakes and the bathhouses are close. Cot and high chair on hand.
The Space:
Ember Rise is a contemporary three-bedroom home in a quiet pocket of Daylesford, built around a fireplace. In winter, the evening starts with the fire lit and a bottle of local pinot. In summer, the bi-fold doors fold back and the courtyard becomes the second living room.
The Space
The open-plan living, dining and kitchen area is the centre of the house. Rattan pendants hang over a long dining table for six. A leather lounge faces the fireplace, and daylight comes in through the glass along the courtyard side.
The kitchen has stone benchtops, an oven, stove, dishwasher, microwave, blender, coffee maker, toaster and kettle, with plenty of bench space. Buy cheese and charcuterie in town and build dinner here.
Air conditioning, heating and ceiling fans keep the temperature right in every season. Board games, a TV and Wi-Fi cover the quiet nights in. Self check-in by key safe and free parking on site.
Sleeping Arrangements
The main bedroom has a king bed and a private ensuite. The second bedroom also has a king bed, and the third has a queen. Six guests in total. There are two full bathrooms with walk-in showers, plus a bath, and premium toiletries are supplied. A travel cot, high chair and children's tableware are on hand for families with a baby.
Work and Connectivity
Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace for anyone who needs to log in during the week. Washing machine and dryer, so a longer stay stays easy. Long-term stays are welcome.
The Courtyard
The landscaped courtyard is private and opens straight off the living room through the bi-fold doors. Outdoor lounge furniture, a lawn and the BBQ make it the place for a slow breakfast or an afternoon drink.
The Neighbourhood
Town is a couple of minutes away by car, or an easy walk. Start at Wombat Hill House, the café in a 1940s cottage inside Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens. Next door, the Convent Gallery has seven galleries in a building from the gold rush. Cliffy's Emporium on Raglan Street is the place for lamb pies and local cheese. Himalaya Bakery on Vincent Street bakes organic sourdough.
For dinner, the Farmers Arms Hotel has served locals for more than 165 years. Lake House is the region's best-known restaurant, and The Boathouse Restaurant sits right on Lake Daylesford. Walk the Peace Mile around the lake the next morning, or take a boat out on Jubilee Lake.
Hepburn Springs is a short drive north. Book a private mineral bath at Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa, play a round at Hepburn Springs Golf Club, and finish with a gig at the Hepburn Palais.
For walks, the Sailors Falls track drops into the valley to the mineral springs. Tipperary Springs links to Twin Bridges and Bryces Flat along old water races from the mining days. Mount Franklin has a crater rim walk with long views.
On Sundays, the Daylesford Sunday Market fills the station grounds and the Daylesford Spa Country Railway runs vintage trains. When it rains, the Mill Markets are good for an hour of browsing.
Further out, Musk has Passing Clouds for pinot, Istra Smallgoods for salami and Daylesford Cider for a tasting. Creswick is about 20 minutes away. Trentham has du Fermier, Annie Smithers' French farmhouse restaurant, and the Domino Rail Trail through the Wombat State Forest to Lyonville. Hanging Rock, near Woodend, makes a good day trip.
Daylesford Health runs a 24/7 Urgent Care Centre in town. V/Line coaches run to Ballan and Woodend for trains to Southern Cross.
