Montau Compound is a private three-home vacation rental in Topanga Canyon, offering a flexible setup for families, friends, and groups traveling together. With accommodations for up to 12 guests, three separate homes, multiple sleeping options, and private entrances, the compound gives guests room to spread out while still providing shared spaces to gather, relax, and enjoy the Southern California outdoors.



Montau Cabin is the largest of the three homes and features two King beds and a sofa bed, making it ideal for families or groups looking for comfortable and flexible sleeping arrangements. Montau Bungalow features a Queen bed and a loft-style sleeping area, offering a warm and inviting space for couples or small families. Montau Tiny Home features a loft-style sleeping area in a charming studio-style layout, offering a cozy and unique stay surrounded by the natural beauty of Topanga Canyon. Together, the three homes provide multiple sleeping options while maintaining separate living spaces and private entrances.



Each home offers a comfortable living area with a Smart TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, a laptop-friendly workspace, and its own fully equipped kitchen. Air conditioning and heating provide year-round comfort, while select homes include an indoor fireplace, perfect for cool canyon evenings.



The kitchens are equipped with cookware, dishes and silverware, refrigerators, freezers, ovens, stovetops, microwaves, toasters, coffee makers, and kettles. Dining areas and wine glasses make it easy to enjoy everything from casual breakfasts to group dinners. A bathtub is available at the property. Dishwasher availability varies by home, so guests who require a dishwasher should inquire before booking.

Each home is stocked with fresh bedding, linens, extra pillows and blankets, hangers, hair dryers, irons, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, shower gel, cleaning products, and other essential amenities. Washer and dryer access is available on-site, making the compound convenient for families and guests planning extended stays.



Families with children are welcome, with cribs and Pack 'n Play travel cribs available upon request. Dogs are welcome in the Bungalow and Tiny Home with prior written approval and a $100 per pet fee. Please share your dog's breed and age at the time of booking. The Cabin does not accept pets of any kind. Free on-site parking is available, and long-term stays are welcome.



Each home is equipped with indoor and outdoor noise level monitoring sensors that measure decibel levels only and do not record audio. These devices help maintain a respectful environment for guests and neighbors. Tampering with any monitoring device may result in additional charges.

Guest Access:

Guests have full, private access to all three homes and all shared outdoor spaces — the swimming pool, BBQ area, garden, and backyard. Each home has its own private entrance, so every group within your party can come and go independently. Free on-site parking is available for multiple vehicles.

Montau Compound sits in the heart of Topanga Canyon — one of Southern California's most cherished natural retreats. The surrounding area is quiet, wooded, and full of character, with hiking trails, Topanga Canyon State Park, local restaurants, and the famous Topanga Farmer's Market all nearby. Getting Around:

A car is recommended — Topanga Canyon is a scenic, winding drive through the Santa Monica Mountains and most destinations require wheels. From the compound, Malibu is approximately 15 minutes, Santa Monica is about 25 minutes, and central Los Angeles is roughly 35–40 minutes. The Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) is easily accessible and opens up the entire LA coastline. Free parking is available on-site for your vehicles throughout your stay.
