It was a booking of two halves. Everything before I got there was hard work. See next section. Everything went according to plan when I arrived, though. I had to ring a mobile number from outside at a time that we had agreed, and they answered immediately and let me in. The property was clean and in good repair, and the bedroom very clean, with freshly ironed sheets, and an extra pillow. There was a pleasant view outside, over some trees and towards the Everton ground. There was a corner shop next door, and a Wetherspoons down the road. A quiet and safe feeling neighbourhood, although I am sure it is very different on match days. There were two buses into town, one to Lime Street, the other to Albert Dock. The double glazing was good, which is welcome, as there is a busy road intersection outside. They let me leave my bag there on the day I checked out. Oh yes, and there was a coat hook. It's amazing how often this simplest of details is overlooked.

To judge by the external picture, you would think there would have been no problem about checking in in pub hours. The pub however was closed all the time I was there. Possibly it opens at the weekend , or on match days. I booked for three nights, but the first night was cancelled at the last minute. I received no replies to my emails or texts, but somebody did answer the mobile and assured me all was well. The first night was cancelled a few hours later. A quick re-organsisation of my weekend later, I picked up the pieces and proceeded more in hope than expectation. Propertys should be required to explain the check in procedure on the booking page, so you know what you are booking. According to the confirmation, I booked en-suite, but didn't get it, and in the shared bathroom, there was no toilet paper. The facilities were minimal; the room consisted of three beds, a wardrobe, bedside table, and a TV, which I didn't attempt to use, or the WiFi. There was no working heating. It did it's job, but I probably wouldn't go again. Too many complications, especially before I arrived.
