The resort shuttle stops just outside and runs to Peak 9 and the other base areas, so the ski day starts with a short ride instead of a parking hunt. Carter Park and its sledding hill are a few blocks up the hill, the Blue River and the Riverwalk Center are a short stroll the other way, and Main Street's saloons, coffee shops and Victorian storefronts are close enough to wander without a plan.
