In addition, Mehlmeisel offers a 100-kilometer network of hiking trails on the Klausenberg with scenic routes. The range of recreational activities in Mehlmeisel is vast—no matter the season.
This two-room apartment, spanning approximately 50 square meters, offers plenty of space for a relaxing vacation. There is a small bathroom with a shower and toilet, a small utility room with a washing machine, a bedroom with a double bed and space to potentially set up an additional travel crib, and an adjoining small children’s room with a bunk bed—though each bunk measures only 90 cm x 180 m and has a maximum weight capacity of 60 kg—which is not separated from the bedroom by a door. There is also a living/dining room with an open kitchen.
The apartment has two balconies overlooking a meadow, the forest, and the Klausenberg ski slope.
Parking spaces are located right next to the house.
A bakery is about 200 m away and also includes a small corner store. In the town of Fichtelberg, about 5 km away, there is a very well-stocked Edeka supermarket with a bakery and an ice cream parlor (which serves as a pizzeria in winter). Here you’ll find everything you need for daily life.
The building has a common/lounge area with a ping-pong table.
There is also a coin-operated washing machine and dryer in the basement.
The attached basement room can be used to store bicycles or ski gear.
The apartment is located on the first floor; however, there are 6 steps leading up to the apartment entrance, which limits its suitability for wheelchair users and/or people with mobility impairments! There is no elevator in the building!
Recreational opportunities:
Right from the house, there are many opportunities to explore nature and the adventure region around the Ochsenkopf.
For those interested in culture, the Bayreuth Festival City, the World Heritage Site of Bamberg, Waldsassen, the porcelain town of Selb, or the beautiful Bohemian towns in the Czech Republic are all worth a visit.
For nature lovers, there are numerous hiking, skiing, and biking trails around the Ochsenkopf, the Schneeberg, and the Kösseine. The various headwaters of the Main, Eger, Naab, and Saale rivers are also in the immediate vicinity. Hikes around Lake Fichtel, Lake Weissenstadt, and Lake Nagler await you.
Of course, there’s also plenty to do here for those seeking action. In winter, about 1.2 km away, the Klausenlift awaits you with floodlights until 10 p.m., 3 T-bar lifts, a family area with 2 magic carpets, and a ski school with ski rentals.
In addition, the Ochsenkopf area offers a total of 10 km of alpine slopes, 100 km of cross-country trails (classic and skating), groomed winter hiking trails, and guided snowshoe hikes. Sledding and ice skating are also available.
Dogs are allowed for an additional fee.
