Welcome to Haus Blankavik, an exceptional holiday home in a beautiful location on the coast of Småland. This well-appointed house stands on a natural headland directly on the Baltic Sea, surrounded by the Swedish archipelago. From the house and terrace, you can enjoy panoramic sea views – a setting that is special even by Swedish standards.

With around 140 m² of living space, Haus Blankavik accommodates up to 4 guests. The property is generally reserved for adults, although teenagers may be accepted on request. It is a particularly appealing waterfront retreat for couples, anglers and boating enthusiasts.

At the heart of the house is the spacious, open-plan living and dining area, with large windows overlooking the Baltic Sea. A wood-burning stove creates a cosy atmosphere on cooler days. A television with German channels and fast fibre-optic internet are also available.

The open-plan kitchen is extensively equipped with an induction hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, separate drinks fridge, microwave and a selection of coffee machines. A washing machine and tumble dryer are also provided.

Two sleeping areas with double beds accommodate four guests. One is in a separate bedroom, while the other is on the spacious open gallery upstairs. The gallery also enjoys lovely views towards the Baltic Sea. A distinctive feature is the large roof window, which opens out into a small balcony.

On the ground floor, there is a bathroom with a shower and double washbasin, as well as a separate toilet with a washbasin. An additional toilet with a washbasin is located upstairs.

The greatest attraction of Haus Blankavik is its exceptional setting in the archipelago. The house stands on a natural headland right beside the water. The terrace overlooks the Baltic Sea and the surrounding islands. A second, smaller terrace sits even closer to the water – a wonderful spot for your first coffee of the morning or a peaceful evening overlooking the sea.

Ducks and swans are regular visitors, and with a little luck, you may even spot seals. The nearest houses are around 150 metres away and are barely noticeable from the waterfront and terrace side of the property. This gives you plenty of peace and privacy, despite having neighbours in the area.

Haus Blankavik has much to offer boating enthusiasts, anglers and anyone who enjoys spending time by the water. Just a few steps from the holiday home is Solstadströms Marina, a small, welcoming harbour that also belongs to the owners of Haus Blankavik. Built in traditional Swedish timber style, the harbour blends naturally into the surrounding archipelago.

The small harbour is barely noticeable from the house, terrace and grounds, preserving the peaceful atmosphere and open views of the Baltic Sea.

A rowing boat is available free of charge throughout your stay. An outboard motor may be available by prior arrangement. This allows you to explore the bay and surrounding archipelago directly from your holiday base.

Haus Blankavik is particularly appealing if you would like to bring your own boat to Sweden. You can launch it using the slipway at the neighbouring harbour. A berth can also be arranged in advance. Your boat will then be just a few steps away, ready for trips through the archipelago and along the Baltic coast.

The location is also attractive for anglers. Around Solstadström, the Baltic Sea meets the Marströmmen water system, which connects several lakes before flowing into the sea. This creates a varied fishing area encompassing coastal waters, sheltered bays and inland waters. Different regulations apply depending on where you fish, and a fishing permit is required in some areas.

There are also lovely opportunities for swimming close to the house. Around the sheltered bay and in the immediate surroundings, you will find several places to enter the water and enjoy the Baltic Sea. On warm summer days, you can take a spontaneous swim without first driving to a distant beach.

Around 3 kilometres away is Blankaholm, a small coastal village with a harbour and a shop. The surrounding landscape of forests, bays and islands is ideal for exploring on foot or from the water.

Västervik, one of Småland’s most attractive coastal towns, is around 35 kilometres away. Here you will find restaurants, cafés and shops. During the summer, excursion boats also depart for the extensive archipelago – a lovely way to discover more of the islands along Sweden’s Baltic coast.

Vimmerby is around 50 kilometres away and within easy reach for a day trip. Astrid Lindgren’s hometown, with Astrid Lindgrens Värld and many familiar locations associated with her stories, offers a change of scene from your days by the sea.

Up to two dogs are welcome for an additional fee. Electricity and final cleaning are included in the rental price. Bed linen and towels can be added as optional linen packages.
