Summary:

At the edge of Joshua Tree National Park, Solace House is a private four-bedroom desert sanctuary surrounded by ten acres of open sky, mountain views, and mature Joshua trees. Wake to sunlight moving across the landscape, drift between the pool and spa, and gather around the fire as the desert turns gold. After dark, silence settles in and stars fill the horizon.



Guest Access:

The entire Solace House and its private outdoor spaces are yours to enjoy, including the pool, in-ground spa, sunken fire pit, outdoor dining area, yoga and sound-bath pad, stargazing net bed, patios, and direct backyard access into Joshua Tree National Park. A small number of housekeeping supply closets are locked and reserved for the local hospitality team.



Please note that Shadow House is located elsewhere on the ten-acre property and may be occupied separately. The two homes were intentionally designed for privacy and do not share indoor spaces or outdoor amenities.

Solace House sits on ten secluded acres directly bordering Joshua Tree National Park and protected desert land. Surrounded by mature Joshua trees, native foliage, open views, and mountains in nearly every direction, it offers exceptional privacy and immersion in the landscape while remaining minutes from town.

Please note that the last 0.7 miles will be on a dirt road. While the road is maintained and all vehicles can drive on the dirt road (4-wheel drive is not necessary), please take it slow to respect our neighbors and not kick up dust. Please note that the dirt roads may have bumps and ruts, particularly after rainstorms.



Getting Around:

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



Other Things to Note:

-Pool Heating Fee-

Should you wish to have the pool heated to 85 degrees, please notify us in advance of your arrival as there will be a supplemental charge per day for this service due to high fuel costs in this area. If you'd like the pool heated for multiple days, we ask that days be consecutive to conserve energy, thank you! Pool heating is not usually necessary May through September. Please note that we will need at least 24 hours' notice to heat the pool.

During the winter months, please be aware that colder outdoor temperatures may cause the pool to feel cooler than its maintained temperature of 85°F. We kindly ask that you ensure this temperature meets your comfort level before submitting a request, as refunds cannot be issued on this basis.



No fee to heat the in-ground hot tub!



-Hot Tub Heating-

Please note that the hot tub adjoined to the pool is an in-ground hot tub, it is not heated constantly in order to conserve energy. It will take around 30 minutes to heat to 104 degrees from ambient temperature. The separate hot tub at the casita is heated constantly at 104 degrees.



-Pool and Hot Tub Service-

The pool and hot tubs are serviced Mondays and Thursdays, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the homes but will go directly to the outdoor water amenities.



-Dogs-

We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation if you are bringing dog(s) and how many, and we will adjust the price accordingly. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $1000. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Wildlife & Safety-

The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.



-Late Check Out-

Any unauthorized late check-out beyond the 15-minute grace period will incur a $100 fee for the first hour, with an additional $100 charged for every hour thereafter.
