The sea takes centre stage in this distinctive loft-like living space, framed by broad windows that look directly across the harbour and open water. Sloping timber-lined ceilings reinforce the coastal character, while several armchairs arranged towards the view create an inviting place to linger over changing light, passing boats and quiet evenings. On Godøya, the former fishing village of Alnes offers a peaceful setting shaped by the ocean and rugged Norwegian landscape. Days can be spent fishing or following hiking trails through the island’s hills, with coastal scenery accompanying much of the way. Alnes Lighthouse is a natural destination for a walk and a reminder of the village’s maritime heritage, while the shoreline invites slower explorations beside the sea. For a change of pace, nearby Ålesund offers Art Nouveau architecture, cafés and a lively harbour atmosphere, making it easy to combine secluded nature experiences with time in one of Norway’s most distinctive coastal towns.
